GE Teams with NASA on Hybrid-electric Passport Engine
Hybrid-electric, high-bypass turbofans could power the next generation of airliners
GE Aerospace completed baseline testing of the Passport 20 engine at the company’s Peebles test facility in Ohio. Next, they will modify the engine with electric motors for NASA's HyTEC Turbofan Power Extraction Demonstration, or PEx.
